For simple applications, there is space for a small onboard PIC microcontroller: The 12F675. This kit option comes with the 12F675, socket, a crystal, and two caps. This is designed to be used with the main Shift-1 kit and does not include the PCB or other components supplied in that kit. The PIC is NOT programmed.
