TIPWORLD'S TIP OF THE DAY

http://www.tipworld.com

This tip originally appeared on the TipWorld web site.

QUICK AND EASY

To add a Printer panel to the Start menu, create a new folder (right-click the desktop and choose New, Folder). Name the folder exactly as follows:

Printers.{2227A280-3AEA-1069-A2DE-08002B30309D}

Now right-click Start and choose Open. Drag the new folder to the Start Menu window. You must type the name exactly as shown here. The period between Printers and the bracket is not a typo. We suggest that you copy the line from this message and then paste it to create the new folder's name.

If you're using Windows 95 and are envious of Windows 98's Windows Update tool, you're going to love the Microsoft Download Wizard. The Download Wizard checks your Windows 95 computer for existing Microsoft software files and the makes suggestions for any patches and updates that may be appropriate for your system's configuration. After Download Wizard suggests the files, you can specify which one you want to download.

To access the Microsoft Download Wizard, point your Internet Explorer to Microsoft's Support Online site at http://support.microsoft.com/support/downwiz Keep in mind that the Download Wizard only works only with U.S. and Canadian versions of Windows 95 running Internet Explorer 3.x or later.
