Configure System 21 to use the new printer

It may be easier to use a printout to complete this part of the installation. When you have finished continue with the next step.

1. Start System 21 and from the menu bar select Reports / List of reports...
2. From the menu in the list window, select File / Printer Assignments.
3. In the dialog box, click on Folio Printer: and pull down the selection list and click on EFPlus.com HPLJ4n. If you will make use of the Statement Electronic Forms at this work station, you should also set the White Paper Printer to the EFPlus.com HPLJ4n driver.

   Note: If you don't see an EFPlus.com printer in the list, go back to step 1 and "Install an updated e-Forms capable printer driver."
    

4. Close the dialog
5. Click on Start / Programs / System 21 / Database Maintenance
6. Select Hotel Defaults
7. Select Reciept Printing
8. Un-check the box that says "Print pre-reg and check out forms using VB"
   Note: "If this box was checked, you will need to close and re-start System 21 on each workstation."
   Some properties have experienced very slow printing of Conformation Letters when this box is not checked and have been told by Hilton support to check the box in order to speed that up. Unfortunatly, checking this box disables electronic forms. You may need to switch this back and forth depending on what you need to get done at the moment. This should not be an issue for properties with modern computer systems.

If you encounter printing problems at this point you can always re-configure System 21 at the workstations to use the standard printer driver.

Move to the next workstation and repeat these steps from Step 1: "Install an updated e-Forms capable printer driver."

When you have completed these steps from all the workstations that are involved, continue to the final step:
"Backup the existing report format files and copy new e-Forms enabled report files onto the server."
